Retail Hub of the Twin Tiers

The presence of many national retailers such as Talbot’s, Pier 1 Imports, Lowe's, Home Depot, Toys 'R Us, Barnes & Noble, and Dick’s Sporting Goods have made the Chemung County area a major retail hub for consumers from the Southern Tier of New York and the Northern Tier of Pennsylvania.

Major shopping destinations include the Arnot Mall in Horseheads, which features more than 100 national department and specialty stores, plus restaurants, service providers and a 10-theatre movie complex. Consumer Square, and Southern Tier Crossings in Big Flats continue to grow with more than 2 million square feet of retail space, much of it filled with national chains. Plus Prime Outlets, located on the northern end of Seneca Lake, offers 95 major brand name stores.

For those who crave a more unique shopping experience, small shops and boutiques can be found in downtown Elmira, and the city of Corning offers an historic shopping district of quaint shops, outlet stores and restaurants. The area also boasts unique theme and gift shops such as the Christmas House and The Glass Market at the Corning Museum of Glass.
