Reopening Requirements – COVID-19

NY Forward Business Reopening Lookup Tool

Governor Cuomo has released a Business Reopening Lookup Tool that allows businesses to input information about the location and nature of their operations to determine whether their business is eligible to reopen. If the business is eligible to reopen the tool will provide the relevant guidance materials for reopening safely and the public health and safety standards with which the business must comply. The tool can be used for both essential and non-essential businesses. You can view this tool here.

Businesses and industries will open in a phased approach.

Phase 1 includes construction, manufacturing and select retail (with curbside pickup).
Phase 2 includes professional services, finance and insurance, retail, administrative support and real estate/rental leasing.
Phase 3 includes restaurants, food services and hotels.
Phase 4 includes arts, entertainment, recreation and education.

Phase 1 Reopening Requirements – COVID-19

The Governor’s office has released guidelines and business safety templates for industries allowed to begin reopening in phase one. As of Friday, May 15, select industries in regions of the state that have met seven public health metrics will be allowed to start reopening. Below is a list of industries allowed to open in these regions during phase one, along with their guidelines and business safety templates.

Business owners must read the “Detailed Guidelines” for their industries and provide their digital signature affirming they have read and understand the document.

The State has published a dashboard to track the public health data regions must meet to reopen here.
